“Horses are incredible teachers of forgivness, acceptance and unconditional love.”

EQUINE FACILITATED THERAPY

As an equine therapist, my mission is to cultivate a warm, inviting, and non-clinical space where clients can feel truly at ease, surrounded by the serene beauty of nature and the gentle presence of horses. By facilitating meaningful interactions with these remarkable animals, I aim to create a therapeutic environment that encourages clients to explore their personal challenges in a safe and supportive way.

This equine-assisted approach offers a unique alternative to traditional talk therapy, harnessing the intuitive connection between humans and horses to foster emotional growth, self-awareness, and healing. Through this process, clients can engage in experiential activities—such as grooming, leading, or simply being with the horses—that promote mindfulness, build trust, and provide opportunities for profound personal insights, all while immersed in the calming rhythm of the natural world.

A path to mind-body wellness

KAREN H. WINTER

With over 23 years as a clinically trained psychotherapist, I have always been committed to providing the highest level of care for my patients. In 2014, I rekindled my passion for horseback riding and attended a colleague’s continuing education class on Equine Therapy. The experience was transformative—I was deeply moved by the therapeutic potential of working with horses and began extensively researching Equine-Facilitated Psychotherapy.
